Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must meet the following BCSP requirements:
- Three years of professional experience
- At least 35% of the candidate’s job duties must require technical skills and knowledge in occupational hygiene or safety
- Successful completion of the OHST® examination
- Payment of the annual renewal fee after certification
- Completion of BCSP recertification requirements to maintain the certification
- Compliance with BCSP’s professional conduct and disclosure requirements
BCSP does not specify a minimum education requirement for the OHST®. Final experience eligibility, application approval and certification decisions are made exclusively by BCSP.

- The OHST® examination is administered by BCSP and delivered through Pearson testing centres
