Description

The OTHM Level 3 Technical Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety has been developed to help learners understand health and safety practices within a working environment.

It introduces the responsibilities, systems, communication methods and practical controls commonly encountered in workplace health and safety roles. Learners develop an understanding of legal and organisational requirements, safety-management systems, risk assessment, workplace hazards, accidents, incidents and monitoring.

The qualification is awarded by OTHM Qualifications, an awarding organisation approved and regulated by Ofqual. Its qualification number is 603/7346/5.

OTHM states that qualifications at Level 3 represent practical knowledge, skills and competence assessed academically at a level equivalent to GCE AS/A Level study. This describes the academic level and does not mean the qualifications are identical.

  • Employees who support workplace safety responsibilities
  • Supervisors and team leaders who want a structured safety foundation
  • Individuals preparing for entry-level health and safety roles
  • Professionals moving from another field into occupational health and safety
  • Learners seeking a regulated Level 3 qualification before further study
