Risk assessment is explained as a practical process rather than a complex technical exercise. Participants are encouraged to recognise that people make informal judgements about risk every day.

This module uses clear scenarios to explore common workplace hazards across different sectors and roles. Examples range from people-related risks, including aggression and violence, to workplace transport and other hazards connected with activities, equipment and the work environment.

The emphasis is on recognising warning signs, understanding possible consequences and knowing when to stop, report or seek further support.

The final module explains workplace safety systems and improvement processes in simple language. It helps bridge the gap between management arrangements and the practical contribution expected from workers.

Participants consider how they can contribute through reporting, inspections, safe working arrangements, contractor controls, health checks and other improvement activities relevant to their role.
